I have been missing out, this place is an absolute gem!!!! I love it and would go back over and over again. I had a deli breakfast sandwich (special of the day) which had a gourmet twist and I also purchased a delicious Bloody Mary. Very casual and has a great local vibe.

Came here today for the first time with my daughter for lunch. I was excited to try their deli because I've heard good things. I told the young woman at the counter that it was my first time there and that I'd need some time making my selections but she didn't seem to care to acknowledge that or give me any suggestions, etc. After skimming the menu, I ordered the bratwurst on a pretzel bun and the liverwurst sandwich. I was really unimpressed with the brat. It was bland and tasted like it had been boiled in water for hours. The liverwurst had a generous amount of liver inside and I enjoyed the bread that it came on, however it was really dry. A few slices of cucumber and a very light spread of mayo would've done it some justice! The house made potato chips were good, a bit greasy for my liking. I was expecting to be blown away given all of the positive reviews but I left a bit disappointed. My rule is that I try a place at least three times before I completely cross it off of my "restaurants to frequent" list. On a brighter note, the gentleman in there seemed to be very accommodating. I don't know if he was the owner or not. I realllllly wanted to love this place. West Allis cheese and sausage shoppe, I'm not giving up on you yet! :-)

Rad cheese and meat selection. Really unique for the area. Stallis needs more specialty places like this!

This place deserves 5 stars based on its selection of cheese curds alone! I didn't know they made them with jalapenos now! I only stopped by to pick up some curds, but the shop had an adorable little restaurant/bakery with what appeared to be local brews (alcoholic and non). Great little stop in West Allis!

My wife and I had brunch in the cafe a few days ago. Had a BLT, some kind of scrambler, steamed milk and coffee. All good, tasty, reasonably priced. Lots of other good looking stuff too. And, they have a pretty good drink selection.. Wine, beer, simosas, etc. There's also a cheese/sausage/beer/wine shop with a pretty good variety of stuff which all seems to be products actually made in Wisconsin. Neat!

Nice tucked away gem in west allis. Meatloaf sandwich is to die for! Liver sausage is amazing! Poutine, wisconsin fries fantastic! Service is great, will be back to try the breakfast. Breakfast poutine? Fries, cheese curds, sausage, beef gravy and eggs? Looks amazing!

I just had the Peachy Pig sandwich it was AMAZING!! One of the best sandwiches I've had in my entire life! The staff is friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place.

This spot is everything I love about Wisconsin!! They have venison, beef, and even pheasant jerkey. There's a great collection of summer sausage and specialty sodas. They have homemade preserves and door country wines. Toss in a decent amount of beer to the great restaurant inside that had the best breakfast served all day and how could you top that you may ask!? CHEESE and lots of it!! I grabbed a couple packages of cheese curds to take back to VA with me. This place is fresh and clean and has modern feel to it that contrasts the classic brick exterior. Stop in and enjoy being in WI.

You should probably eat here if you are considering it. It's a go to breakfast spot once you have. I can't say enough about how amazing the breakfast sandwich is here. Fluffy eggs, cheddar cheese, delicious ham, bacon or sausage, and the best part is the croissant roll. I can't say enough about the croissant roll. It's buttery flakey and all around amazing. I eat this at least once a week! The other food is delicious as well. The skillet, the hangover burrito, the omelet. The breakfast potatoes are that perfectly crunchy and chewy and are just so so good! The coffee though. They made me an addict. They serve stone creek and make a cafe caramel that reminds me of Alterra's Caramel Royale before the menu change and name change. I pretty much would live here if I could. Settling for down the road and visiting frequently will have to do.

I've been coming to Milwaukee to visit family for 20 years and never heard of this place before. Came in for first time today, will definitely return. Best fried cheese curds I've ever had, excellent hot Italian beef sandwich, delicious homemade chips. Service was very friendly, restaurant was very clean.

Whenever I'm visiting home in Wauwatosa I stop by this store. I have to pick up my cheese curds to bring back to California. I love that they have a variety of kinds of cheese curds but they are in very large bags. If I buy all the kinds I want to bring back in the large bags, they would go bad! They very kindly made smaller bags for me. Very sweet of them. They unfortunately don't carry Spotted Cow for me to also buy but that's fine. They recently in the past year opened a cafe/restaurant type place attached to the store. It had a great selection of foods and drinks. My dad and I both got brats (I had to get a brat before I returned to CA) and it was sooo delicious! I could have anything I wanted on it and the pretzel bun it was in was really good as well, not too hard. I'm already looking forward to going back when I visit home in six months.

Always delicious. Great place for take out breakfast in West Allis. Their poutine is very comforting. Loved their liver wurst sandwich. Like finding neat gifts in store.

Good service, food is even better. I come for breakfast and lunch and neither are disappointing. Hangover burrito for breakfast. It could feed two people. Every lunch sandwich I've tried has been on point. They're getting better at the chips which were too salty before

This is a sandwich shop, plain and simple. Nothing fancy, just good sandwiches made with quality ingredients. This would normally be enough for only a three star rating from me, but the neighborhood feel along with its decent Wisconsin ingredients give it that fourth star. And check out the attached cheese and sausage shop.

Any cheese you could ever dream..er, want they either have it or know how to get it. Cheeses are fresh, selection is great. Specialty meats can be found here, too. Specialty local selections are nice and can be a bit pricey but if you're here, chances are you're local and support local. Deli items are fresh and delish. Customer service is usually pretty good; knowledgeable regulars are typically all about educating and helping you find what you need. Having been a customer for more than 10 years and remembering the original store, this is one place I will continue to support. The one star deduction is for the inconsistent customer service (because it can get rude once in a great while) and for the prices on the deli end which can be insane-ane-ane.

Still a 5 for awesome customer service and great cheese but a recommendation... If you're looking for Raclette for your raclette, give them a call a few days ahead to make sure they have it. I went in just thinking they'd have it but they were sold out. The shopkeeper recommended Port Salut (which was delicious any way) but next time I'll call ahead and make sure they have it. He told me they could ship it from the downtown store if needed.

I am from Des Moines, IA and I was at this deli in mid July and their sandwich of the month was a Chili Cheese Dog grill cheese with caramelized onions and optional jalapenos (which i added). This was hands down one of the BEST sandwiches i have ever had in my entire life. My dad had the reuben which i had bite of and was delicious as well and my grandmother had the meatloaf sandwich which was also delicious. The shoppe part was also very cool. They had a wide variety of cheeses and meats and other cool stuff. If you find yourself in the Milwaukee area West Allis is worth the stop! I'm still thinking about that sandwich...

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to get a bite to eat. Had read the reviews prior and knew they served sandwiches. I honestly have passed this place so many times and never noticed it so thank you Yelp for guiding me. So many varieties of cheeses it will knock your socks off. Sandwiches are made to order, meat shaved in front of you, cheese sliced and prepared right in front of you and the man working there is very accommodating. Deli, Grilled or Toasted - your choice. Cozy place with a couple of tables by the window to eat at or you could enjoy sitting outside on the patio. Did I mention they are HUGE sandwiches too? Could only eat half and enjoyed the other half later. Will be back to check out more.

Check out the new Café!!!!! Our family stopped out last week during the "Soft Opening" of their new Café for real good sandwiches. Nice assortment of meats, cheeses and specials of the day. Stone Creek Coffee and soon coffee drinks. Generous portions and very reasonable priced food makes this location a must-stop. We decided to go back on Sunday for breakfast and again we were please with the nice options of egg dishes, fresh ingredients and plenty of smiles to go around. The neighborhood has one tremendous new addition with this inside seated café. Real good Job West Allis Cheese and Sausage Shoppe!

One of my favorite places to shop. Great selection of cheeses. The owner is a great guy that always has great suggestions. Sunday ham and rolls...this is my favorite place!

In an unassuming neighborhood lurks something that will pleasantly surprise you. It did me. What brought me here is the need for better selection than the big box grocery stores provide. I also want to talk about the product with a man that knows the material. Upon entering you will notice that this is a small to medium sized shop. It is well stocked and faced. Seriously this is a clean and well organized store and i was impressed upon entering. There is a wide variety of cheese. That is the star here. The shop also contains ample sausage, farm fresh eggs, lunch meats, beer, wine, condiments and other do dads. The gentleman working there was very friendly and happy to talk about the product. He doesn't stock anything with any MSG or preservatives. What this leaves you with is a product as it was intended to be eaten. Just talking about the eggs he was passionate that there is nothing abnormal. No pesticides/antibiotics/etc. Just good ol eggs. I could immediately tell I was going to like this guy. He interrupted himself to point us in the direction of a few samples behind us. A 5 year aged white cheddar and an aged brick. The cheddar blew me away. I've had older cheeses but this had a beautiful sharpness. The brick is ultimately what I went with. As we chatted he yanked out and started cutting an aged peppercorn cheddar saying that we really had to try this. Man i am glad i did. That would be a great topping for a salad I thought. We got smoke other products while we were there. I wish i would have read Gina's review earlier in life. Didn't know they had sandwiches. Very cool! This will be in my weekly rotation for shopping. I want quality product and I have found it here!

I am glad that the WACS seems to be thriving at all three locations. The Becher Street location is closest to my house and is the one I visit most often. They are very happy to allow you to sample any cheese - although who really needs to sample, I mean its cheese how can it be icky?? The case represents local, regional and international cheeses well, with many award winning selections. I have always found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful, especially when I am just looking for something new to try or a cheese with a particular taste/texture. The shop also carries many WI specialty foods and alcohols. Some of it is crazy expensive. I get that it is local artisan etc. But I just cannot pay $8 for a jar of fancy pickles. $30/pound for cheese, sure, but I have to draw the line somewhere. This is a well stocked "taste of Wisconsin" style store full of goodies to treat yourself or to gift. Give the sandwiches a try too. The aged brick and the liverwurst are both phenom - just be ready for a strongly flavored meal, these ain't no nuggets and bottled ranch.

Seemed promising. Clean and quiet. Normally, Fratelli's is my go-to, but I decided to try a corned beef reuben. The price of $9 suggested large portion size, so I proceeded to order, with the promise of homemade chips and a pickle to accompany my sandwich. Service was no longer than I would expect, and I was back home in no time. Opening the bag I was greeted by delicious smells of goodness. Much to my disappointment, there was no pickle, the reuben was tiny, and the chips over salted. Bottom line, this was my first and last time here. There's no second chances at a first impression.

went there on a sunday. staffed by 2 young girls who have no idea about customer service. one of them appeared to be the owners daughter, who made a brief appearance. There was no offer to help with selections or offer samples for tasting. my interest was in buying pleasant ridge reserve cheese(award winner) and the girl at the counter wasn't even sure they had it. Finally found it after checking with her cohort. They have a decent selection of cheeses but i have seen much better. Overall a poor experience. will not be going to this establishment again.
